How many tons of gravel are in a cubic yard?
Roughly 1.4–1.5 tons per cubic yard depending on the stone and moisture — a cubic yard is a little over a ton.
What depth of gravel for a driveway?
A driveway usually totals 4–6 inches, built up in layers over a compacted base. A top-up is about 2 inches.
